"Woman is deprived of rights from lack of education, and the lack of education results from the absence of rights. We must not forget that the subjection of women is so complete, and dates from such distant ages, that we are often unwilling to recognize the gulf that separates them from us."

Luckily you didn't type cannon. LOL Canon is basically "fact" for a series or collection of books, movies, tv series, comics, etc. The "actual events" of a fictious universe. Star Trek, Star Wars both are heavily controversialized canon-wise because of the sheer volume of work made about their universes. In other words, it's tough to say what "did" happen and "didn't" between all the information. TV/Movies are generally the highest in regard for official or real occurences. Scripts, guides, manuals, and the like are second followed by books then comics.
