In "Who Mourns for Adonais?", the adventures of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 are dated approximately 5000 years after the Trojan War. This is a major OOPS.
Since the days of the ancient city-states of Greece, the Trojan War has been dated to approximately 1200 BCE. This dating is confirmed by recent archaelogical excavations at Troy.
If the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 is in operation 5000 years after 1200 BCE, she and her crew would be in approximately the year 3800 CE.

Given the shakiness of the current evidence, it would not be unreasonable to assume that the Trojan War will be discovered to have happened earlier than currently believed.

Somehow I doubt that archeologists will re-research the Trojan war because of the Star Trek timeline.
