"Just got back from seeing "Free Enterprise", which is an incredibly funny, throughly delightful film. Unlike "Trekkies", this picture was made by people who are geniunely fond of science fiction film, and it is full of hysterically funny in-jokes. Catch it if you can, but do it quickly, since it's not likely to stick around for long.

I heard about this movie only two days ago.
The brief description said that two die-hard Trek fans meet their hero William Shatner [played by William Shatner] and find him to be just a little mad. His dream project? A musical version of Julius Caeser.

You got that letter too Trinculo? I went to check my mail today and I got a letter from Mike talking about Free Enterprise. It was weird cause I wrote to him asking for information on the USS Equinox, mostly a registry. But any other off hand information would be great too.

I just went to a SF convention today, and I saw a booth there with "Free Enterprise" posters behind it. Unfortunately, I had to leave before the people came to set up the booth, but I'm going there again tomorrow so I'll be getting more details. The poster looked like the Generations poster with Shatner's face and 3 other people I didn't recognize.

I have just seen this movie today. It IS very funny. The main characters are all sci-fi fans, so they quote/imitate Trek a lot (and occasionally Star Wars). A lot of in-jokes, too, as Mike Okuda said in his email. But...it WAS geared heavily toward males (rated R, and not just for the profanity, if you know what I mean), and when I came out of the theater, I couldn't help feeling a bit of the disgust I felt after seeing "Can't Hardly Wait" (if you don't recognize the name of that movie, good for you). The plot is rather boring if it weren't for the jokes, it can be sexist at times, and the main characters (with the possible exception of Mark) are a bunch of losers in the sense that they can't set their priorities straight and hang out in a pub all the time. And all the casual sex gets made me uncomfortable (my mom wanted to come along, good thing she didn't). Though seeing Bill Shatner rap to the lines of Julius Caeser might be worth your ticket.
Some funny moments:
In one scene separate from the movie when the credits were rolling, Mark (one of the leading characters) tells an assistant to call Shatner in his trailer to get ready for filming. So he goes and knocks. No answer. He knocks again, calling Shatner's name. And again. Then he hears something from the trailer: Shatner's voice saying "spread them wider. Wider!" The assistant opens the trailer door, and there's Shatner and another woman, trying to spread the woman's fingers into the Vulcan hand symbol. *LOL*
And...
