Topic: Tuvok's Age and His next Pon Farr (posible $)

I recently watched two Tuvok episodes. One was "Riddles" in which Tuvok's age is questioned, and another, Season 3's "Flashback" (w/Capt. Sulu).
TUVOK'S AGE: It is mentioned that Tuvok was 29 years old at the time of "Flashback". That was 80 years from the time of Voyager, so at that time Tuvok was 109 years old (29+80=109). That was three years ago, so that would make him at present, 112 years old, not that old for a Vulcan (109+3=112).
TUVOK'S LAST AND NEXT PON FARR: It was mentioned that just after "Flashback" Tuvok went into seclusion to try to attain pure Vulcan logic. However, 6 years into that seclusion Tuvok was forced to stop because of his Pon Farr. That would make Tuvok, at the time of that Pon Farr, 35 years old (29+6).
Pon Farrs occur every seven years, so from that time Tuvok had 10 Pon Farrs since the age of 35. (7*10=70) So Tuvok's last Pon Farr was when he was 105 years old (70+35=105) (about one to two years before joining Voyager).
So, logically Tuvok's next Ponn Farr will occur at the age of 112 (105+7=112) whic incedentally is Tuvok's age now. So Tuvok's next Pon Farr should happen this season.
The system works, considering that the writers planned this at the time of "Flashback" and it wasn't just a fluke. Even if it doesn't happen this year, it could still happen in season 7, because everything is always approxamate. However, even if we don't see it at all in the series, we could speculate that amusing scene in "Tinker Tenor, Doctor Spy" which happened earlier this year, (in which the Dr. sedates Tuvok because he is undergoing Pon Farr), was an actual event, just twisted a bit by the Dr.'s daydreams. But, I would still feel a little cheated. So, Finally (have I lost anyone?):
TUVOK'S AGE: 112 (29[Tuvok's age at "Flashback"] + 80[Period of time from "Flashback" to season 3] + 3[time since season 3]
NEXT PON FARR: 112 THIS YEAR (VOYAGER YEAR SIX) (29[Tuvok's age at "Flashback"] + 6 [Tuvok's end of seclusion] + 77 (7[Pon Farr Cycle] x 11)

I guess they did mention his age in Flashback. Was it when he was talking to Janeway before everyone could see her?
80 years may be about right. Did you you go by the Chronology's dates given for ST:6 and the start of Voyager?
And you're right, all age's are approximate and dates are approximate. Tuvok could've been rounding up or something. But I want to see this event too. It's too bad they wasted the story on Vorik in "Blood Fever" and didn't really even play up the fact that Tuvok could've guided him through it a little more

Yeah it works chronologically as well. Star Trek VI (As well as "Flashback" took place in 2293.
Voyager's 3rd Season took place in 2373 exactly 80 years later, give or take a few months. So, Tuvok's Pon Farr should be this year! I hope they do something with him!

Actually, I remember from a different context that Tuvok was due Pon Farr in season 6, so it looks like the writers were either really lucky or more continuity-conscious than one might be led to believe...

Well, I assumed that the pon farr scene in "Tinker..." was just a daydream, w/ no basis in real shipboard events. However, if anyone ever points this stuff out to the writers, they'll probably say "No, look, we showed it already. Never mind that the doctor imagained it; it happened!"
Of course, was it ever mentioned whether it happens every seven Terran years, or every seven Vulcan years?

Good Point about the year differences. I was convinced that they were gonna end up telling us that a year to Kes was like 20 to us! But then I remembered that all class M planets have about the same rotation, revolution, polar tilt and so forth. That's one of the things that makes them class M, the fact that they're Earth-like. And no, I don't think it's ever been said that Vulcan is a class M planet. It may not be. I would asume that the years are about the same though.
The sad truth here, though, is that the writers probably will not do anything with Tuvok's pon farr because of the Vorik story. I think the most we'll get is a line from the Doctor, "Well, Commander, you seem to be recovering very nicely from your pon... er, that thing we agreed not to talk about. Could you take a look at this console for me...?"

Eww, and ewww! I don't know if it was Vorik's first pon farr or not. All I remember is that he seemed unfamiliar with it. Saavik said in ST:III that Vulcan males have to endure it every 7 years of their ADULT life. I would guess it begins at puberty but who knows when puberty starts for a Vulcan?

I have to admit I'm not too excited by the prospect of such a story. I'm sure it might provide for good character insights and such, but...it seems to me that the logical thing to do is to take a stroll down to the holodeck.

Except that Doc tried that for Vorik, and it didn't work.

Someone (I forget who) went into the holodeck after Vorik, and found a bunch of holograms that were beaten up or something. Then Vorik fought B'Ellana because she was going to finish here Pon Farr with Tom and he wanted her.
