Why are the field jackets different from in "Broken Bow"??
Remember, they used to have a sort of checkered pattern to the fabric. It almost looked like leather. Now in "Shadows of P'Jem" I noticed they are now made of what appears to be a completely different material. Almost windbreaker-like...
I know that uniforms have had a tendancy to change from the pilot to the series, but why would they, in this case? Why spend the money for new wardrobe?
What's up??

Perhaps it was a different in planetary climates and the old uniforms are just waiting to be used on Rigel again?

Mabye it wasnt as cold and therefor the need for those heavy jackets wasnt there, so they wore thier windbreaker type jackets... seems fine to me.

Sorry if it sounded like a dumb question to you, Proteus. It was just something I noticed while watching the ep. The explanation that folks have given sound fine to me...
