And especially his age - considering that he was posing as an ensign - even though "on a temporary assignment".

Well, the whole episode was largely an exercise in sillyness. Or did you think that "and women wore less" was a serious comment highlighting subtle design differences between 23rd and 24th century costumes?
The models in that episode were all physical models (station, Enterprise and D7). I've no idea what happened to them, but I imagine that Greg Jien flies them around his house late at night.

@Kazeite: really? I was absolutely sure he said something about being an ensign. Oh well, Alzheimer calling...

And I guess it wasn't so much Sisko's baldness that makes him look wierd in the TOS costume... I think it's more his goatee. The only TOS Starfleet officer who ever had facial hair, IIRC, was Mirror Spock.

There were a lot of reasons why Sisko looked out of place. First of all, how many times did we see a male hand something to Kirk to sign? It always seemed to be a blond or a brunette in a short blue mini-skirted uniform. Second, baldness and facial hair seemed completely absent on all Enterprise crewmembers. Third, although Star Trek was one of the most socially progressive programs of its time (the first interracial kiss on American television occurred on the show), besides Uhura there really weren't that many black crewmembers shown to be on the Enterprise.

And someone like Spock, as executive officer, and with his memory, should have spotted he wasn't on the crew roster - even temporarily - at all.

No, there weren't many black people on the Enterprise. But there were some, so it's not really enough for Sisko to stand out. Now if Tuvok had tried it, then yeah.
I'm more worried by the dirty, dirty looks Spock and Kirk give "Sisko" as he walks away. Dirty gay boys.

There's also the fact that Brooks is quite a bit taller than Barbara Luna (even if the trick photography cut a few inches from him), and Shatner was looking at her chest to begin with. Do we now have to think Kirk has a belly fetish with black men or what?
We could always interpret Spock's look as one of mild suspicion at Sisko's identity. But the XO wasn't always completely up to date on the crew roster: "Norman" was able to infiltrate the ship easily enough...

The real question that we now have to consider is by what galactic coincidence had Kirk and Spock responding in exactly the same way on two entirely seperate occasions.

They ususally destroy sets on every show that ends, but for Star Trek they save some sets and puts them in storage. If they don't i think they now try to update the blueprints for star trek stuff cuz you never know when they'll need it. They did destroy the enterprise d sets since it was clear to me that they did a poor job rebuilding it on "these are the voyages."
I know that they save the transporter sets every time since they are used in every show. The bridges are almost always destroyed.
