This is a pic of Chakotays maquis ship from "caretaker" as seen onscreen:
http://members.nbci.com/pinasov/fleet/maquis1.JPG

As you can see, this profile does not resemble the later schematics of his ship, and it does not resemble the attack fighters either. So, Im thinking that this is something they drew up and later dropped for some reason. We havent seen it anywhere else, have we?

This is the only time we see this 'schematic'. And it is nothing like Chakotays ship, although it should be.

The model used for Chakotays ship is also used several times on DS9, mostly in Eddingtons fleet of ships.

Well, there is a precedent for that sort of thing. A graphic for the USS Potempkin showed an Ambassador-class ship in "Second Chances", but in "Ethics" the year before we saw her as an Excelsior-class ship. Whatever graphic that was on the Maquis ship was probably some generic "winged starship" that they computer used. Or the computer or analysis subroutine could have been scrounged from that ship. Or any one of many possibilities.

Ah yes, copy n' paste. It looks like only a representation of the ship. I wonder what THAT ship looks like in reality.

Yeah, well, sorry about the copy and paste. Im just not used to Xooms weird tos-viol. What is that about?

About the ship, yes, it isnt unusual for lcars-screens to show the "wrong" ship-class, as with the ambassador-class mentioned above. Or, take for instance Datas first command, the Nebula-class that showed a Nebula-variant. Or the Oberth-class Pegasus which might or might not show a four-nacelled ship on a screen.
With this pic, it looks like were seeing a new type of ship, one that I dont think weve seen before. Could this be the infamous "peregrine"-class? :-)

That picture looks like neither the "tactical fighter" of SoA, nor the Academy Trainer. Would be cool to find out what it is. Those pointy wingtips are nice...

Ugh, it looks like a Defiant with wings stuck on it!

Maybe the guy controlling this screen was just playing an old DOS game

You've gotta break the boredom somehow...

"Let's see. How bout if I replace the graphic of our ship with this thing and see if anyone notices. Hee hee, this is going to be great!"

That would be funny except it was Tuvok at that station where the screen is. I don't see him doing that kind of stuff.

Bart: Ohhh, I see... you HATE him, so you gave him to the church.
Groundskeeper Willy: Aye. I also 'ate the mess he left on me rug. [Bart stares.] Ya heard me!

"Well, there is a precedent for that sort of thing."

Indeed there is. In Wrath of Khan and The Motion Picture, I believe the interior deck plans shown onscreen were the original Franz Josef's.

Sometimes I think the prop managers must rue the creation of the VCR. And the DVD probably gives them hives.
