Well, actually, no, it doesn't. Unless you also think "blue" means "screwdriver" and "book" means "watchband", &c.

Only the on-screen shows/movies are canon, because that's the only stuff that's supposed to be internally-consistent. The encyclopedia, chronology, etc. are assumed to use information only from the shows, so the shows take precedence in any conflict (assuming obvious, and not assumed, information).
