Hello.
New member.
I've got an interesting story. In the "Captain's Logs" book(the one from 1993), on page 250, there is a picture of the cover of the April 1993 issue of "Cinefantastique" magazine. On that cover, there is an Oberth-class ship flying, with the registry NCC-19002. That is the Yosemite's registry, I believe. Since this issue was published when DS9 premiered, this is probably supposed to be the USS Cochrane, although I don't know why they put it on the cover. Any thoughts? (Sorry, no pictures)

Well, the ship that docked with DS9 in the pilot appeared to be the Yosemite, registry and all. IIRC, the actual Cochrane appeared in a different episode, with a different registry, or something like that. *summons targetemployee*

They may have used the model for that shot, and the ship really was the Cochrane, but who can confirm it was called the Cochrane? I know it was in the Encyclopedia, and apparently the ship was in "The Drumhead." I wonder why they would put it on a magazine cover, though.

According to the TNG Companion and confirmed by the StarTrek.com web site, the Oberth Class starship that ferried Admiral Satie was the U.S.S. Cochrane. Until the episode is shown at better resolution in DVD, the most that can be said about the registry is that there are four numbers.

Hmmm, I did not expect this thread to come around again. Although I may have caused it by posting a link to it...

If he were really a mass murderous criminal of the sundry sort, he'd probably most affectionately be known as the "Sheep Shearer." Either because he used sundry shears to sundry his victims, or he'd wear their skin.
