I was watching the episode "This Side of Paradise" (TOS Ep. 25). I noticed something new about the USS Enterprise. This ship's hull reflects whatever is near it, like glass. Take for instance one of the final shots of the USS Enterprise orbiting Omnicron Ceti 3. On the ship's lower saucer starboard, there is a reflection of something.
Was the model of the USS Enterprise made of a reflective material?

Describe this reflection. If you hold up a coloured object near to a piece of white paper, get the angle right and you can see a coloured shadow. Since the model didn't look like it was made with a matt texture, it's quite likely it could reflect nearby objects.

Right. I believe it had a gloss finish. The other color could either be a reflection from the filming lights, or the bluescreen reflected on its hull.

It was actually made of wood, I believe, but I don't know what (if anything at all) it might have been coated with.

I seem to remember some sort of reflection like thing going on with the Enterprise-D. Unfortunately, I can't remember the episode.

Since TOS SFX were repeated ad nauseum, could you tell us which orbiting shot this was? I haven't got that episode handy, but there are only a few shots to choose from.
Was it one of those ones from the title sequence? The Enterprise banking to the right as it passes us? The Enterprise flying past us and turning left to continue orbit? The one where the Enterprise passes in a straight line from left to right?
Were there other orbiting shots?

"Omnicron"... Sounds like Unicron's big brother...
And, as Liam said, he doesn't have the episode to look at, so knowing it's "the last shot of the ship orbiting Omicron Ceti III" does him a grand total of no good whatsoever. The exterior shots of the Enterprise were only a few, and used over and over and over again. So, if he knows what the shot looks like, he can find it reused in a different episode.
