I remember this from 1996, but then again, im starting to doubt my own memory. I remember when I went to see ID4 the opening day (yeah yeah) there was the VERY FIRST teaser for First Contact. Only I remember it being called "First Site" then,

The teaser ony featured the giant Borg starfleet logo (the 30th aniversary type) and the the ent-d flying though it.

anyone remember this?

I went to see Independence Day in about its sixth month of release (hey, it had moved to the dollar theater), and there weren't any Star Trek teasers at that time.

I did see the teaser you spoke about on E! Coming Attractions, but it was called Star Trek: First Contact in the teaser.

I also checked the Internet Movie Database, and it lists the following subtitles for the eighth feature film: no subtitle, Borg, Destinies, Future Generations, Generations II, and Resurrection. Apparently, the subtitle wasn't nailed down until the project was under way, but it doesn't seem to have ever been known as "First Site." At least, the IMDb doesn't think so.

Was there ever a poster version with the Borgified Starfleet logo?

Well, if you look up, you'll see the Reverend has the DVD and knows that you are right. So, it looks like it was almost going to be First Site. I vastly prefer First Contact. [Smile]

By the way, where have you been lately?

As to Vogon Poet, the newspaper ad for the movie here had the Borgified logo on it. I know because I found it cool and cut it out to put in my school binder.

Yes there was a poster.

And the DVD's teaser is diffrent - and goes by First Contact. (the teaser I remember had the enterprise-d flying through the borgified starfleet symbol and thats it...)

The only working titles ever tossed about for First Contact were Generations II, Future Generations, and Borg. The others at IMDb and this First Site business are pure bunk.
