My question-
Which was designed first by Starfleet-the Nova Class or the Sovereign Class? And is the Nova Class based on the design of the Defiant Class pathfinder featured in the ST: DS9 Technical Manual?

His response-
No idea which came first, though I suspect the Sovereign had a longer R&D cycle. If you're talking about the Equinox, yep.
