THis was the unnamed runabout from the last season of DS9. Can I get some details on what happened with this ship? I know everybody's got it as being in "Tacking into the Wind," but wouldn't it have been the runabout in "Extreme Measures" too?

Thanks,

Check out this topic from the TrekBBS. I think the answer is in it (I'm sure the answer is in it because I remember looking for that ship).

I read through it semi-thoroughly and couln't find any more info...

Here's what I really want to know:
1. The ship was used on some sort of assignment to Cardassia or the Dominion or something, wasn't it? So, what was the mission, and who was involved?
2. In what episode did they leave on the mission, because wouldn't they have left aboard the runabout?
3. What happened with the ship during the mission? What tasks did it perform, and who was involved?
4. Why do so many people say it was abandonned if they returned to the station ABOARD IT in "Extreme Measures"?

Thanks,

a cross section of the web's opinion on this.. a google search for the term "NCC-73918" revealed the following.. like 90% or so of them were 'runabout, name unknown' in people's shiplists. a handful of sites assigned this number oddly to the Gander.. a couple (exactly 2) fan-fic type sites assigned this number to the Amazon

and on one site, NCC-73918 was a product code for a carpet sample.

Disclaimer: The following is not exactly a reliable assertion because I never had the capability to make my own screencaps, and so made the observations solely by freeze-framing the taped episodes, but...

When I took a look at some of the shots of the runabout (during the ship's approach to the Cardassian Hideki shuttle), it looked like the runabout had a very short name. Were I to make a guess, the filming model was probably labeled "Rio Grande" and I couldn't see the second word because that part was in shadow.

In my own ship list, I gave the runabout the conjectural name Po (a river in northern Italy, and also a short name) in order to preserve the ever-faithful Rio Grande.
