In one night, I saw two episodes where the act of murder or genocide is being committed. The most important of these is the episode "Dogs of War" where the entire Federation Council voted to keep the cure from the Founders. Reason-the Founders are the enemy. In effect, the UFP has condoned the actions of Section 31 and genocide. The Nazis used the same reasoning when decimating the Jewish populations. The Jews were the enemy and were out to destroy the German state. I feel the writers and producers of the modern Star Trek are blitzkrieging the classic Star Trek (Gene Roddenberry's visions)into rubble. I am no longer comfortable watching Star Trek. So while watching Star Trek, I attempt to get as much information as I can about starships. By doing so, I hope to feel reassured that Star Trek has not become the antithesis of its original ideals. To be honest, it is failing.

This should really be in General Discussion. . . I suggest you take it there. Thread locked.
