look closely. you will see in some shots that Donatra's is a regular Romulan green colour while the other is a reddish brown colour...I haven't heard about it before, nor have i seen it mentioned here....

I have. I think the reddish brown color results from the Enterprise's phaser fire shading the Valdores. That's why you only see it in some shots, the only one I've seen being the Ent-E firing its phaser close to the discolored Valdore.

I notice how the light that surrounds on the rim of the viewscreen is white - when the predominant colour coming from the screen in GREEN. Same with the light on picard.
