From his reaction, I got the impression that regular Keldons weren't suppose to go that fast. No more, no less.

Now, the speed thing is almost certainly thanks to the Romulans. What I'm wondering is that in the shot where we're watching the icons representing the Galors, the Defiant, and the Keldons, who was moving at what rate? Were the Keldon icons moving faster than the Galor icons?
