Hello, everyone! Some of you may know me from the Starship Modeler forums. Anyway, I'm searching for reference material of the Stargazer in preparation for building my own. I'm trying to follow the yellow desk model instead of the studio model, and while you might not think it, there are quite a few differences. I've got all of the available online photos of the Stargazer - as far as I know - so was hoping that some of you here might be willing to share hitherto unknown or hard-to-find shots with me of (preferably) the desk-model or the studio model. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Link removed? I thought I might get a reply like that. Look, I am not trying to sell anything, and I don't see anything wrong with posting a link to my completed Trek models at the end of a genuine post asking for help. I do apologise, however, for the fact that my site is on Tripod and therefore has unavoidable banners.

Wow. This is a truly low and mean forum. Josef Stalin could learn a thing or two from you. Following my recent history of having perfectly innocent links to my (non-commercial) website removed, I retract my request for reference material from this forum's members. Your dictatorial, arbitrary, and petty behaviour is shameful. Have a look at the "Starship Modeler" boards (to which many of this forum's members also subscribe) if you want to learn how to run a convivial, civilised forum.

The problem is ProfKSergeev that the there are people out there - as you know - who want to do nothing but just SPAM boards such as these. Post a few posts, sit and chat - maybe even put a link to your site in your subject line and people can go there at their leisure. What's the use of having someone join up for one post and all that post is - is of someone posting a link to their site? Not very condusive to discussion.
Look forward to more of your posts (unless you are undergoing a 'dry-clean'!?! )

It's called the double standard. I've seen it happen before to me too. If I posted a link to your site Prof and said: "Wow, look at this guy's models!", we'd have two pages of discussion going.
If I post a link to my own site (as you did) it suddenly becomes spam?!

The difference between linking to your own site (whatever its content) in your signature and linking to it IN YOUR FIRST POST is that the latter is considered pushy screamy advertisement and the former a casual unobtrusive reference. Why? Because in 99.99% of all cases, that's what those links ARE.
And if that small yet important rule upsets you enough to invoke Godwin's law, then PLEASE don't let the door hit you on the way out.
