I have compiled the known facts about Kazon ships, but some details are still missing. Most important, I can't find any evidence of the mysterious wingless shuttle which I think I have seen in "Initiations". There is even a micromachine of it (no fake, I have seen the real thing): http://user.tninet.se/~miu897o/misc/kazon.htm

Wasn't there an episode where Tom Paris shot down a small Kazon ship, while saying that he didn't had time for a fight? I believe he was using a transwarp type shuttle and a looping to get behind the Kazon ship.

And Paris just slowed down, and the patrol ship glided past him. (Hello? Anyone there in the Kazon ship? Knock knock?) Chakotay did the loop manoevre on Kar in "Initiations".

The "wingless" shuttle has never appeared onscreen. Galoob apparently saw the incomplete picture of the shuttle (before the wings were added) published in Cinefantastique and assumed it was a different ship. I found this out when I tried to compile my own Kazon ship list and for a while had the picture of the Micromachine included. After rewatching all the Voyager episodes, I discovered this "version" was nowhere to be seen. The winged version has been used to portray everything from a small shuttle, to a fighter, to a large atttack ship with multiple decks and shuttlebays.

Even not in Initiations? I'm still not sure when in this episode the ship could turn up, but if in any episode, it's that one.

Bernd, what exactly do you mean by the ship turning up?

Garak, what exactly do you mean by this question? The ship I mean is the wingless thing, which might not exist at all, according to Rick Sternbach, but was actually only a preliminary version. And I wonder if it has nevertheless appeared in any episode, preferably "Initiations".

Bernd,
I was always under the impression that the "wingless" Kazon ship appeared in CARETAKER, but after watching the few shots of that ship in that episode, it Does have the wings. At least the rear mounted wings. The first set of wings are absent, and they appear to have been added later.

Just watched "Initiations." Kar's fighter is the standard model with the little winglets on the aft end. Now I don't know about the other wings that Alexander is talking about.

Thanks for the info. It seems I have to drop the assumption the wingless model was shown anywhere.
I have checked "Caretaker", and the only difference I could see was that there was no lighting indicating many decks, as opposed to later episodes. The cockpit window that Rick Sternbach recently mentioned wasn't visible, but I can't say if there was a double-deck bridge module, either.
I could see a smaller forward wing pair, but it is possible it is different from the later version.
