From Sternbach, on rec.arts.startrek.tech, regarding what would go in a Voyager TM:

Hm... Since sector numbering hasn't been all that consistent (though not irreconcilably so), I think it's safe to assume that something's not going to work right w/ this...

There has never been such a thing as a numbering scheme. All sectors were named or numbered completely arbitrary, so it will be impossible to include every sector into a new scheme. On the other hand, I agree with anything that creates consistency for upcoming episodes, such as the introduction of the Alpha through Delta Quadrant (well, it's actually not as consistent as it could have been).

Of course they will. The Intrepid class will utilise reclaimed Daedalus components. Cargo Hold 2 (Seven's hangout, actually on Deck 4 I think)will be located in the main shuttlebay on the diagrams. And any map will show them as still being deep inside the Delta Quadrant.

Not to mention Warp 6 = 1000 ly/y.
As far as the sector numbering is concerned - no biggie. They'll make up a good system as far as it goes and chalk the rest up to deliberate deviations (as in somebody picking a cool car registry such as 1701

Well there HAS been some sort of sembelence of a sector numbering system, well at least according to Nemecek's TNG Compenium, where a few of the 'background' notes (which I loved) mentioned that the Romulans and Klingons were on the federation's 'right' with sector numbers in the low 10's -> mid 100's and that the Cardies were on the left with the Talarians - in the 5**** sector number range.

Seeing how they work for Voyager, I foresee fewer boo-boos than the DS9 TM.
I like this numbering scheme. I hope they'll introduce it on the shows permanently... Would make things much more fun.

Well, at least that one is a guaranteed fact, not a supposition
