Wow. That says a lot, doesn't it? Anyways... I'm just asking a question about the name of this ship. Do we know for sure that it's spelt Tombaugh? Cause as I was writing an essay for French class night, I looked up the word "tomb" in french, and, to my surprise, found "tombeau". So is it Tombaugh, or Tombeau, the french word for tomb?

Well, I wouldn't want to travel in a ship called "Tombeau". I think Tombaugh is a proper name, most likely a person of US history completely unknown to the rest of the world except for Starfleet.

It is probably named for Clyde Tombaugh, an astronomer
who discovered Pluto in 1930.

I cannot believe I forgot about Clyde Tombaugh. I researched that for months... Lowell Observatory, Mars Hill, Flagstaff, Arizona, U.S.A. I was even there where Tombaugh worked... *groan*
