Well that's why it's his finest. Aside from the Saratoga, what ships has Sisko served on?

USS Livingston
USS Okinawa (as XO)
USS Saratoga (as XO)
USS Defiant (as CO)
USS Defiant (the 2nd one, as CO)

He also served at Utopia Planitia, Deep Space Nine, Starbase 375 and one more starbase early in his career (forget what it is though)

I'm glad someone else noticed that "finest ship" line. I actually started laughing when I heard him say that... *L*

Maybe...just maybe Sisko temporarily commanded a prototype vessel at Utopia Planitia. He probably commanded it to test the warp field and everything, you know?

He met Curzon Dax at Pelios Station, IIRC.
I think Curzon/Odo mentions something about a dancer on it in 'Facets'.

Yeah, it's a Nebula -- a Galaxy-class would have had more swept-forward pylons right under the nacelle.

Something about knowing a fact no one else would know... "This dancer at Pelios stati--" "Okay, that's enough."

I think he also oversaw the construction of orbital habitats on Earth.

Sisko and Verad Dax give a fairly detailed history of their meeting in "Invasive Prceedures".

When was it mentioned that Sisko served aboard the Livingston? I'm sure you're right, I just can't remember.

It's entirely possible that Sisko commanded another ship while serving at Utopia Planitia. We know that Picard captained a ship we've never heard about. See my Picard's second command thread for more on this (if you want).

Keep in mind that Sisko wasn't a Captain until a year after he got the Defiant. It seems unlikely that he would have commanded another ship, before the Defiant, when he was only a Commander in rank.
