In "Alice," Abodan says that he received Alice from some captain. Now, I thought he said Alkorean, but I've seen several places that say Haakonian. Now, I doubt it was Haakonian, because they're all they way back there in Kazon space. I know Voyager's writers are sometimes sloppy, but in this instance I doubt it's Haakonian, not only because they are so far away, but because they would be considered 'old Voyager' and the writer's probably wouldn't use them. Can anyone confirm what Abodan said?

Seeing as how we've got a rather major upcoming storyline dealing with events from Voyager's very first season, (And the premiere, no less.) I wouldn't say there's much evidence to suggest that "old Voyager" can't be mentioned.

Resurrecting an extragalactic lifeform for "The Voyager Conspiracy" is one thing. But moving a standard warp-drive culture however-many-thousands-of-light-years in the wrong direction is another. Now, of course, one could theorize such things like the Haakonians developed transwarp or a wormhole was discovered, but this is a stretch. And yes, I know the Caretaker is involved in "TVC," but like I said, the Nacene are a pretty powerful species, it's not a stretch to develop wild theories about them.
BTW, 'old Voyager' is a term I think Bryan Fuller or some Voyager writer came up with. It was used to describe the first three seasons.

Well, I don't really have any idea one way or the other regarding the name of the species you seek. I just want to take issue with the idea that previous stories are somehow offlimits.

Bryan Fuller applied the term in a TrekWeb chat, yes.

He didn't say they were off limits, but I think he was implying that before Year 4, Voyager wasn't exactly what the writers had hoped it would have been. Now with Seven, it is. Kind of like Voyager's turned a corner or whatever. I think they only want to look ahead.
Or maybe not, who knows?

Well, he said they had zero plans to revisit Old Voyager (including Q and the Carektakers) at the time.

I've heard that there's suppose to be a Q episode later this season.
