Just for fun, I did a little work. In "Scientific Method," the Doctor says there are 257 rooms on Voyager. I thought I'd check how many have been revealed.

Now, I'm assuming the ship has two-hundred quarters (given the fact that there are about 150 standard crew, or would be in the Alpha Quadrant) - and there would need to be room for ambassadors, guests, mission specialists, etc. during any particular mission - and room for times when the ship would perform evacuations.

That leaves 57 rooms left. Here's what's been revealed:

bridge, ready room, briefing room, mess hall, cargo bays (at least two), transporter rooms (4), torpedo control room, sickbay, holodecks (2), armory, science lab, astrometrics lab, geology lab, turbolift maintenance/control, shuttlebays (2), Main engineering, deflector control, navigational control, environmental control, stellar cartography, stasis bay (large empty room in "One"), morgue chamber room, brigs (2), hydroponics bay/lab, airponics bay/lab, and storage chambers (at least 3).

That adds up to 35, leaving 22 rooms unidentified. However, I'm also assuming that there are probably anwhere from three to eight more cargo bays and two to seven more storage chambers.

But I was thinking, Voyager is small, but 57 not-quarters room seems too small a number for the ship. I mean, there are probably some single decks on a Galaxy-class ship with 57 rooms. Do you think 57 rooms for Voyager is realistic. I guess it would be, but I want your opinions, as well.

Well, in "Lower Decks" (TNG) they mentioned that even some lower-ranking officers share quarters (and this is a Galaxy), so maybe the same is the case for Voyager.

Well, in Voyager's "Flashback," Tuvok was bunking with other people onboard the Excelsior. I would think that all Federation starships have people with their own qurarters and those who share quarters.

ST-6 shows a "barracks" arrangement for enlisted crewmembers (several sleeping in bunks in the same room), with at least three people sharing a room. The scene I'm referring to is when Uhura makes the ship-wide announcement for a court reporter to report to sickbay to take statements from the two co-conspirators (to trap Valeris).

Interestingly enough, these barracks were shown as being co-ed...

Well also consider the fact that rooms like the shuttle bay and somthing like a shuttle maintenance deck would take up just about the whole deck. The Galaxy's main shuttle bay takes up about 90% of two or three decks of the saucer section (including observation and maintenance).

I wonder if Voyager has a head adjacent to the bridge and the Captain's Ready Room like the Ent D did. I don't recall seeing any extra doors on the bridge...

Where does that corridor near Ensign Kim's console lead to?

One side is a turbo lift and one side is the conference lounge, if I remember correctly.

There is no conference lounge.
The doors to the Ready Room and Briefing Room are infront of Kim's & Tovok's Consoles. The corridor behind Kim's console goes to the escape pods and airlocks.

Well Voyager isn't a Galaxy Class now is it. But I would think that the Briefing Room is a smaller version of a Conference Lounge. But where is the bathroom on Deck 1? Don't tell me that the crew goes back to their personal quarters to use the can?

Janeway: "Chakotay, you have the bridge. If you need me, I'll be in my quarters. And inform me when we reach the binary star system."

Chakotay: "Kathryn, I thought that you wouldn't miss this rare binary star system? What are you going to do in your quarters?"

Janeway: "Normally, I would stay in my ready room, but there isn't a bathroom on Deck 1 and I need to get rid of Neelix's caserole surprise in me right now."

Here's a schematic of the Intrepid-class bridge area.

It just occured to me how strange it is that the bridge has only one turbolift. I thought Starfleet got into the practice of having multiple/backup turbos. Oh well.

Conference Lounge, Briefing Room: Same thing.

I guess there is a Captain's Head (thanks for the schematic) but still none for the rest of the crew. Imagine having to ask the Captain's permission to use her private rest room every time you have to go! Come to think of it, I do remember seeing that door in Janeway's Ready Room and wondering what it was for.

I guess there could be a head immediately to your left in the corridor to Deck 2 behind Kim's station.

I think that other corridor thingy inside of the Briefing Room could lead to a Head. Even though that particular diagram says they both lead to Deck 2.

OK that little corridor - I have heard doors when someone went down it - I guess that is just so they can seal the 'room' if necessary.

1. Its a ramp to deck 2.
2. it leads to jefferies tubes, airlocks and escape pods.
3. it leads to the head.

2 and 3 are probably just at the end of the corridor - but on deck 2.

That ramp idea is plain wrong...have a look at the deck 1 on the Intrepid model. There's clearly a flat hallway with several rooms off it on there, one or two of which I assume would be heads. To port there are two escape pods.

Also, you can see that there is indeed a second turboshaft.
