Ooh... I dig the surface detailing on those.

Fine work indeed, well done. The surface detailing work is good, I particularly like the Merrimac; very clean hull. Sometimes I miss not making physical models, having something solid in your hands to show for your work. Then I remember all the sore heads from the smell of glue and paint, trying to clean the bloody things without breaking them and constant outlay buying model kits to suppy the parts you needed. I'll stick to CGI models now I think, safer all round.

Hmm, that reminds me -- I've got a Prometheus model sitting in my closet that I never finished...
Nice modeling work there, Jason! I can't say I particularly like the design of the Merrimac itself, but the detail is certainly well-done. (I've never worked in the 1/2500 scale myself aside from the ERTL DS9 model, which had no tiny details anyway.)

You should give it a try. ....although the DS9 model is truly 3900th scale. What I would'nt do for a 2500th DS9! Your Promethus is one of the easiest models to build! Just use grey primer and then paint the engines, deflector and bridge.... You'll get to it eventually.

1/3500 scale. But it makes no difference. They actually work well together. Back in 1996, I built one with various ships positioned in & around the station. Don't remember where it all went, but it worked well enough.

Yeah, it looks good, but you just can't have the Venture docked via it's saucer gangplank with a model that small. I built a starbase frm a Regula model, but I'm not going to make the extremely out-scaled Starbase 375. .....I might build some of those Cardassian weapons platforms if I could get a definite scale on their height. You got anthing new Shik?

Yes, you can. I did it quite well & quite successfully. A Galaxy at a top pylon & a Nebula as a bottom. Forrestal was attached at the Deck 25 torpedo tube airlock & Banshee somewhere along the saucer.
All the other ships were either in flight (via rods, but one ship was hung by string sandwiched between arm pieces) or docked at ring bays. The small Defiant I made stuck right into a small hole cut into the docking bay & the other ships were attached by sliding them onto needles that were epoxied to small sections of tubing affixed to the bays as extendable docking tunnels. All the ships save the one hung by string & the 3 runabi glued to the runabout pads (but 3 others were in flight) were removable for ease of transportation.
