SSM has a member named kwikaboodle that has built a 8 and a half foot long Babylon 5 model that puts the CGI version to shame!

The construction is fabulous, but the paint job could use some work. Some of the details are very obviously hand painted. Not that you'd be able to tell from a distance.

One question: How the heck would you take that thing anywhere? You'd need to strap it to the roof of your car, and I don't think that would be very safe.

Very cool though

The interior section rotates and I think that it is modular at those pieces...but you'd still need a truck and lots of padding. [Wink]

It does, just to a directory listing though. It's good work, and the hand-painted elements make it almost look more real than a perfect 3D mesh and skin. . .

Oh, I like the fact that it's hand painted and that it's a physical model. I just wish he had used a stencil or something when painting on some of the markings and various greebles. Some of them look good, but there's one picture on there that really looks shaky.

Just my opinion. I think it's a great model.

I wonder what I would do if I had that much time on my hands....

Nice, now, if he can build one at half scale...
