I just thought I'd mention here that I've finally finished redesigning my website and putting the final touches on certain design aspects. (I'm still having trouble with a random "featured section" item that is installed and activated but not appearing, but that's a server issue, not a design issue.)

I've spent a while redoing all of the pages (again), including getting rid of some silly, non-standard uses of CSS styling. Basically, instead of using the H1, H2, etc tags like you're supposed to, I used these incredibly long class selectors like class="goldtitle" to create the larger-font header lines. Which isn't how things are supposed to work at all!

Most importantly, I got rid of the black background for the main body content. Not that there's anything wrong with black backgrounds -- I used it for 3 years myself -- but I've come to realize that it's just so BORING. Too many people use it. And so I picked out a nice pattern from the Fireworks library, spruced it up a little, and used that as my background.

Comments and criticism are welcome! [Smile]
