Actually, I believe you are referring to the sneak-attack on Station Salem One, an altogether different event than Tomed.

Well..... If you want to get really persnickety, the admiral in ENT was named after the ship in Nemesis, and through retconning, the ship was actually named after the admiral. Its all really confusing.

The (illusory) Decius in TNG "Future Imperfect" was named after the Praetor's bootlicker in TOS "Balance of Terror".

And remember, we didn't learn the U.S.S. Phoenix (TNG "The Wounded") was named after Cochrane's warp test-ship until five years further on. [Smile]
