A while back, I mentioned I was doing a commission for a collector of Obi-Wan and asked for help with hut reference. Well... here's the finished piece:

Is that three astral bodies in orbit of Tattooine?
The face of Obi is interesting, it looks like you were going for a cross between Ewan and Alec, like when Kenobi was 45. What is that text in the middle for, "A New Assignment"? Is it the project name for the upcoming Star Wars Episode III-B?

I think it looks more like Ewan closer up. This is somewhat unsteady digital camera shot.
"A New Assignment" comes from Yoda's bit at the end of RotS where he tells Obi Wan he has a new assignment for him, and new training. The new assignment being to watch over Luke. So this image takes place shortly after Obi Wan's arrival on Tatooine.
The three moons of Tatooine comes from the Sand People slaughter scene in AotC. Three moons are clearly visible.

I thought it was "new training," the secret of becoming one with the Force, which Yoda had learned from Qui-Gon's spectre.

I like the figure and the very nice house a lot, but the orbiting moons look kinda thrown in to me...shouldn't the closest be the brightest in the sky?
Hmmm...mabye just continue the curve of the closest to make it more of a cresent...that might work nicely.
If you make another vesion of this (and this would be very cool) you could mask off the illustration and the moons (use whole circles to mask their mostly unseen shape) and do the ol' "toothbrush trick" with white paint to add lots of random stars of varying sizes. The masks would reveal where the moons are by the absence of stars.
I dont know if I like the brown ink splatter across the bottom- kinda detracts from the piece, but it does break up the dead space nicely.

I think it looks great Aban. And since I am taller than all the other posters, I am right. It has some terrific composition with the horizon across the lower third aligning with Obi-Wan's belt. The horizontal composition draws one to the figure which has some magnificent shading. To me it totally looks like Ewan and I instantly recognized it as being his place on Tatooine. There's a nice balance of light and dark tones as well. I think your client should be thoroughly impressed.

The closest moon actually wouldn't be the brightest because it's still fighting with the light on the horizon. How bright is the moon, say, at 7 in the morning when the sun is starting to come up? The reason it's fading out at the bottom is because there's more light down there.
The stars may not show up very well in the photo, but I actually did use a toothbrush to drop in lots o' random stars towards the top of the piece. I used a mask to cover up Obi during that process.

In the script, Qui-Gon (who was supposed to have voiceover dialogue in Yoda's meditation scenes) says he learned the technique from a Shaman of the Whills. This was a reference to George Lucas' original concept for the films to be told as chapters from the Journal of the Whills, the Whills ("Will") being what would later develop into the Force, and later still, the Midichlorians.
