Has anyone worked out a Dominion War time line? I have been thinking about making a series of top-down maps of the events and tides of the war, with Fleet stats and movements, but, I really need a text-outline of the war itself. Anyone seen or heard of such a thing? I saw all the final eps, but, I don't have a good enough memory to recall all the details.

Well, in the last episode the female Changeling stated something about being at war with the Federation for two years, but I think it was actually from two-and-a- half to three years.

Yeah, I know it was about 3 years my good man. What I mean is, a time line, like, in months (episodes, etc), telling when, for example,
-The Centaur was lost -The MIA List was posted (so we know when those ships were lost) -The initial invasion -When Dukhat (no pun intended) contacted the Dominion -When the Klingons invaded -When the Romulan/Cardassian Fleet was chopped to shreds when trying to find the Homeworld...well, Tau Shiar and Obsidian Order Fleets anyway... -Battle of Chintoka -When Betazed was attacked -When Earth was attacked -When the Siege at AR-115 (or whatever) took place.
See what I mean? I know there has to be some anal trekker out there who wrote all this down!!! LOL

IIRC, it was two years. The war didn't start until Dukat and his forces attacked DS9 forcing the Starfleet withdrawal. The time between the Cardies joining the Dominion and the DS9 attack was just increased tension, but no formal declaration of war.

That may be so, but, I think, when examining the conflict, you have to take into account the events leading up to that. We don't just focus on events following Pearl Harbor when discussing WWII (from the American perspective). I'd like to see a timeline of events from the moment were heard about the Dominion up until the end of the final season.

If you want events going back to when we first heard about the Dominion, then you'll have to go back to the middle of DS9's second season when Quark attempts to establish trading with the Gamma Quadrant. Otherwise go to the last episode of the second season when we first find out about their hostile intent.

Actually, going back to the 2nd season is just a beginning. You'd have to go back centuries to witness the Founders sending the hundred babies into the galaxy to explore it - Odo's backstory is essential to the unfolding of the war. Or you'd have to go back 2000 years to see the Dominion become the dominant power in its own space, as suggested by Weyoun in "To the Death". Or even longer back to see the Changelings being persecuted and driven to this monomania of subjugating all Solids so that they can no longer be a threat.
And on the other hand, you'd have to go back to Earth's history to find out why the Feds kept on pushing into Gamma space even when the Dominion revealed itself and told them to stay out.
So basically you'll have to read just about the entire Chronology to understand what's going on. I hope an updated edition will come out after Voyager wraps up.

About Tosk-hunters, if they are inferior to the Dominion then why haven't the Jem 'Hadars those good armor-pads the hunters had? And didn't their croosbow-guns look very much like the Jem 'Hadars guns?

Somehow I doubt the authenticity of the "Vorta helps wounded Changeling" story. I'd imagine the Founders have constructed an entire mythology designed to reinforce certain behaviors in both the Vorta and the Jem'Hadar.
