Hey, all.
Aban, if you were contacted by this girl recently who like this pic of yours, it was my cousin.
She liked it so much, she wanted me to make a desktop out of it. It's not my best work (I only spent about 5 min. on it), but here it is.

Ah. You're better with the cloning tool than I am

I remember getting the e-mail. I dropped a sample packet in the mail to her a few days ago. I hope it helps her out.

I haven't read the books, just played the game somewhat but, isn't that discworld-inspired?

No, actually it's inspired by the myth (Hindu I think) that the world is supported by four great elephants that stand on the back of a giant sea turtle that swims in an endless ocean. I was going to do a series of "creation belief" pieces, but I never got around to any more of them.

Hey, I found my new desktop picture! Great work!

Nit: The ears suggest African elephants rather than Indian ones.

Leave it to you to pont that out, Masao.
And Aban, we just got the mail today. Thanks. Some really cool stuff.
She enjoyed the packet, and really likes the painting. (she wants the original, hehe)
And don't give me too much credit, it's not that good. I think I will redo it...

Masao, I was lucky that I could find three pictures of elephants in positions relatively close to the ones I needed

You're right, though. I guess I never really even thought about the fact that if it's an Indian myth, they should be Indian Elephants

I really wanted to get the piece done so I could get the mailer printed. I wasn't spending alot of time with in depth research

But, hey, I'm glad that everyone likes it! Look for a couple new pieces in the starship potrait series in the next few months (knock on wood). The Steamrunner and the Saber clases. Drawings are done and the paintigs shall begin...well...sometime soon, I hope.

I can't help myself from pointing out errors. My civilian job is an editor/rewriter of articles for medical journals. What was once an annoying habit is now a good-paying career. People actually pay me to be a pedantic pain in the ass.

Anyways, Alan, I'm looking forward to your new ship paintings.

Hey, I didn't write the myth, guys!

And Masao, I didn't take it as criticism. I'm the same way!
