The series was set on the USS Valor, a Nebula-Class Starship assigned to Starbase Seventeen, a remote outpost on the Dominion border (but thousands of light years away from Bajor and DS9) which is carved out of an asteroid, and commanded by Vice-Admiral SADUK (in real-life, Konrad Aschenbach), a recurring character. Eventually, the Valor would get the USS Excalibur, a Defiant-Class ship, to assist in it's mission.

This was before Peter David's series came out so don't gimme shit about Excalibur, okay?

The Valor's mission is to determine the identity of the rogue Cardassian gul raiding Federation space and causing havoc.

Since this "series" was based on a Star Trek Club I belonged too, I was of course the Captain (as I was in the club). The Valor was my first command.

Commander JAFFE REYS (in reality, Sam Alcaine), a Trill, was the Executive Officer. A former science officer, he is on his way up the ranks and will command his own ship soon.

Lt. Commander LARRY WEBSTER is the ship's Mission Operations officer and second officer. A dedicated warrior who fought both the Tzenkethi and the Cardassians.

Lt. Commander SINEK, the ship's Vulcan Engineering Officer, and brother of Adm. SADUK (in real life, Konley Aschenbach)

Lt. PALOR (in RL, Russell Bailey) is the ship's Science Officer. A member of an amphibious race of the Federation.

Lt. LARRY D'ANNA is the ship's Operations officer.

Lt. NATHAN NADELL is the ship's Security Chief. A Bajoran rescued by a human Starfleet officer when the USS Mon Kal Roe responded to the distress call of a Bajoran freighter attacked by Cardassian ships (which explains why a Bajoran has a human name).
You may recognize Nadell from Star Trek: Gamma Quadrant ... although they share the same name, they are different characters, although both based on the same real person

Lt (jg) JESSICA WOOLDRIDGE is the ship's Bridge Officer, and she serves at all bridge stations, including Conn, Ops, Tactical, and she is qualified to take command.

Other officers include:

Ens. ERIK FELKEL, the ship's Conn Officer, who has a dubious family history: every member of his family who has served in Starfleet has been killed in the line of duty before reaching the rank of Lt. Commander.

Ens. KLARG (really DESI HAYES), the ship's Klingon assistant science officer.
