If any of you CGI wizards out there could give me a hand in helping me design the U.S.S. Legacy, I would appreciate it, as I know nothing about computer aided design.
As you can see, this preliminary design was taken from the fourth Nova concept drawing in the TNG TM. I'm trying to design the ship based on the shape of the hilt of a sword (for reasons I won't get into right now). Keep in mind that this is just the basic shape I was thinking for the ship, not its actual appearance. This Nova concept was the closest design I could find to what I wanted.

GA: Thank you so much for your insightful reply. I knew I could count on someone like you to lend a helping hand.

No bother at all, Dukhat. Glad to be of service. Oh okay...
It looks rather interseting, but wierd at the same time. I'd like to get a look at it from the side - the "secondary hull" has good potential for TEH LOADZ 0VV PHAZ3RZZZ!!!!

Well, the "secondary hull" is mainly just removeable crew quarters, unless someone can come up with any other ideas.
I suppose I should have made a paper drawing to go along with the Nova concept, such as what they start with at the ASDB.

There was some movie starring Scott Baio (I think it was "Zapped") where he had a kitbashed model of the Millennium Falcon mixed with a model of the refit Enterprise. IIRC, the whole MF body was used minus the upper sensor dish and the sidecar. The "front" of the ship was actually the back, and where the two prongs stick out, the Enterprise's nacelles & pylons were glued to the top of them. It actually looked pretty cool.

Here's a sketch I came up with. I'm not sure if I will eventually want to go with the organic look, but like I said, I will take any help I can get.
-------------------- "A film made in 2008 isn't going to look like a TV series from 1966 if it wants to make any money. As long as the characters act the same way, and the spirit of the story remains the same then it's "real" Star Trek. Everything else is window dressing." -StCoop

Does that last design remind anyone of something?

Austin Powers type scene takes place.

I don't know whether to be happy that someone finally responded to my post, or to be upset that someone made fun of my sketch...
Oh, what the hell, Hobbes. I thought your comment was rather funny
BTW, the "tip" is the shuttlebay door, so the "shaft" wouldn't actually be "coming" toward you, but rather flying away from you.
