Well, the original thread never got off ground, and most posts were about silly articles and not real Star Trek universe-related. Well, here's one that is very much like the events of our universe. It's from "Homefront":ANTWERP CONFERENCE BOMBED
27 die in changeling attack
Antwerp, Belgium-In the worst terrorist attack on Earth in over a century, a bomb exploded at a high level conference in the Antwerp Center between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire.
27 people died when a bomb ripped through the west wing of the center at 10:01 AM, sending a fireball of smoke and debris into the Belgium sky. Local authorities attempted to beam about any people inside, but interference from the explosion and the loss of power prevented many transports.
Rescue shuttles and transports arrived on the scene as workers and delegates ran from the building, hoping to get away.
The conference was meant to lessen the hostilities between the Federation and the Romulans, the first major talk between the powers in almost two years. Present at the conference was one of the Federation's highest level ambassador's, Vigon Seil, and the Romulan's highest ranking general, Kostatos. Both are believed dead in the explosion, along with 24 other workers and delegates.
Once he learned of the attack, Federation President Jaresh-Inyo informed the Federation that intelligence revealed to him Dominion changelings were behind the attack, and all Romulan ships were being escorted from Earth and back to Romulus.
