The Cha’Mondor

The Cha’Mondor are a reptilian/crustaceanoid life form from a planet they call Cha’Mondat. Cha’Mondat is mostly one big ocean with many islands dotted across it. These islands have climates similar to that of an oasis. Its gravity is slightly higher than Earth’s at approximately 1.1 Gs. The atmosphere is only slightly thicker than that of Earth’s too. The average temperature is comfortably warm. Overall, Cha’Mondat is quite habitable to Humans. As a matter of fact, some of the unpopulated oasis islands on Cha’Mondat are popular vacation spots for Humans despite the slightly higher gravity. While the Cha’Mondor aren’t thrilled by this fact, they accept it and they do not try to bar aliens from visiting their planet.

The Cha’Mondor are a highly technologically advanced race. They even have managed to build their own fleet of starships. However, a person visiting Cha’Mondat, if he/she doesn’t know any better, could be fooled into thinking the Cha’Mondor aren’t that advanced at all. The Cha’Mondor have a few High-tech districts dotting their planet, but overall, they enjoy living on their oasis islands without their hi-tech toys. Their housing is very basic. In your typical low-tech district Cha’Mondor home, there would be a room for eating, sleeping, and combat training and that is about it. The homes would be made from materials similar to what has been used to build homes in Japan for hundreds of years. Housing in the High-tech district is far more modern and....well.....high tech.

The Cha’Mondor are an unusual race in terms of build. Their build is not that dissimilar from that of a centaur in Earth mythology. They have brownish-tan skin which is quite hard yet flexible. They have 4 arms each with 2 elbows and each ending with hand that only has 3 fingers and a thumb. Their heads are a bit reminiscent of a crocodile’s head only they have long black antennae protruding from the back of the head that are usually swept back. This gives them an advanced ability to sense vibrations in the air. The Cha’Mondor have 6 extremely powerful legs. 2 on their right side, 2 on the left side and 2 directly connected to their behind. These legs end in dull points in order to give them more stability while walking in their sandy oasis-like environment. The Cha’Mondor have an extreme love for combat via bladed weapons. However, that doesn’t mean they are mindlessly violent. They don’t kill each other unnecessarily nor do they attack other races without a reason, but when they go into true combat, they are ruthless. A big event on Cha’Mondat is a combat tournament using bladed weapons which have been dulled in order to prevent permenant harm to the competitors.

Their love for combat via bladed weapons is so intense they have managed to incorporate blade-like weapons on to their warships. They’re warships have the highly unusual capability to sprout highly flexible and stretchable wings when they are in combat mode. These wings have an incredible sharp edge to them. Their cutting power is amplified by an energy field that surrounds the wing’s sharp edges. These wings are used to perform, for lack of a better term, fly-by slicings on enemy ships. Cha’Mondor ships are also equipped with a skin like outer layer that can regenerate itself when it is damaged.

The golden rule regarding the Cha’Mondor is this. They are usually harmless if you leave
them alone, but if you piss them off, they react. Harshly.

No, that sounds OK. I particularly like the idea of the bladed wings - neat.

. . .

Oh yeah - if they are solid blade-type weapon, what happens if the target ship's shields hold? Won't they just collide?

The energy field around the bladed wings perform the function of slicing through energy shields. Even the U.S.S. Prometheus would be no match for a Cha'Mondor warship. MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
