What do you think?

The Ta’Mot

The Ta’Mot is an aquatic species from the a world they call “Motica.” Motica is the 4th world from their star. As stated before, the Ta’Mot is an aquatic species who lives completely under water. They have triangular shaped heads with bony, beak-like jaws and 2 eyes on each side of it, an abdomen with 2 fins, and a thorax with a tear shaped tail fin that moves up and down to give them propulsion in the water. They have tanish-pink skin that feels oily to the touch. The average Ta’Mot is approximately 10 to 12 feet long. They do not have arms or any type of appendage that would allow them to manipulate objects however they do have incredibly powerful telepathic abilities and this is what allowed them to develop technology.

When the Ta’Mot encountered a land creature that had the physical ability, but not the intelligence, to develop technology, the Ta’Mot mentally enslaved them for lack of a better term and they became workers for the Ta’Mot. They call these creatures “salots.” Ever since then, the Ta’Mot were the thinkers and the Salots were the workers. The salots are ape-like amphibians with smooth, bluish skin and webbed hands and feet. The Ta’Mots mental control over them became so great after such a long time of enslavement, the Salots have become not much more than extensions of the Ta’Mot’s will.

Most Ta’Mot live in the oceans of Motica, but they have also managed to build bio-domes on some of the beaches on Motica. It is from there that they have managed to move further inland. It took them a long time to develop materials strong enough to be used in gigantic structures designed to hold in massive amounts of water, but they eventually managed it. Ta’Mot cities are composed of buildings within one large dome. These buildings are usually made of a bluish-purple material and they usually are in the shape of large spheres. These spherical buildings can be suspended at different depths within the gigantic dome of water. Obviously, Humans must don aquatic gear in order to enter these inland cities, but many people describe the view to be breathtaking. The feeling of being underwater while looking down on the dry beaches from observation windows 60 to 70 stories up is a feeling that has never been experienced by many Humans.

The Ta’Mot are capable of interstellar travel and they are quite militaristic. This has resulted in a strong military, but they have never conquered a race outside that of the Salots. Their ships make a nasty combatant in battle. Most of the ship is filled with water, but there has to be areas with an atmosphere for Salot maintenance workers. One quirk about Ta’Mot ships is that they cannot be boarded and captured that easily. Unfortunately for the enemies of the Ta’Mot, this quirk doesn’t go both ways sense Salot boarding parties can survive in a gas atmosphere. The Ta’Mot prefer to capture ships whenever possible, but in order to do so, they must remain close to the target ship in order for the Salot boarding parties to do their job. Despite a Ta’Mot’s incredibly powerful telepathic abilities, their range of mental control isn’t infinite.

Name of Species: Ta'Mot
Name of Home World: Motica
Land, Water, Air, or Space Based Species: Water
Average Length of Adult: 10 to 12 feet
