As if the title of the finale weren't spoileriffic enough, the BBC has released a press blurb about the final episode. Really - seriously - if you don't wanna know, don't read any further!
Earth has been conquered and the Master rules supreme, with the Doctor a helpless prisoner, in the final episode of Russell T Davies's Doctor Who. The entire human race has been reduced to slavery, as the mighty warships of a new Time Lord Empire rise from the ashes. Only Martha Jones can save the world...
David Tennant plays the Doctor and Freema Agyeman plays his companion, Martha Jones. John Barrowman and John Simm guest star.

Not at all. For British series, I usually default to their nomenclature of a season of episodes as a "series". "Last of the Time Lords" is the final episode of the third series of Doctor Who. The fourth series was announced months ago and is about to start filming in Cardiff. British TV is almost always year-to-year and rarely do they announce multi-year series renewals, even for big-budget dramas like this. Doctor Who ain't goin' nowhere.

So the Russell T Davies Doctor gets killed by this Master (er....who is playing the role now?)?
Who is the new Doctor?

Wow, I had no idea this would be THIS confusing...
Russell T Davies is the executive producer and head writer of Doctor Who. It's last episode of "his" third series. David Tennant has been the Doctor for the second and third series, and will continue on in the fourth. So will Davies, for that matter.
