I recently discovered the fact that the sci-fi channel is producing a new miniseries based on Dune. So far, it looks promising, nothing like the 1980s movie. Does anyone have any more information, like when its supposed to air?

Well it has a homepage, everything should be there. Also, www.dunenovels.com covers the work on the series.
I guess William Hurt could be of some help to the franchise. I liked Jrgen Prochnow as Leto II, he matched the original character quite well, but Billyboy is prolly good too.
As long as he shows at least one percent more charisma than in "Lost In Space" all should be well, 'cause then he'd have...at least one percent.

One thing I do hope they keep from Lynch's vision is his interpretation of a Guild Navigator. Not exactly what Herbert had in mind (at least not in Dune), but it made for the best scene in the whole film, in my opinion.
