On a related note, Sky (over here), are trying to buy season 6 to show as early as possible. For the past two years, they've rarely been past a month later than the US showings, and sometimes, they've only been a couple of days later. If they succeed, they might actually end up showing Buffy and Angel first.
Oh, and if anyone discusses Buffy, can they point a spoiler warning in if they are going to discuss season 5 (or season 2 of Angel), as I haven't seen it. Cheers.

I'm just hoping that this change of Networks for Buffy (only at the moment) won't stop any 'Crossovers' between Buffy and Angel...

So they are changing. I was reading somewhere that Gellar was threatening to leave if they change networks. At the time I thought it was bollocks but then I thought, celebrity and American - she was probably so up herself, maybe it was true. Nice to see it isn't true and she'll be continuing.

I assume that they are both still being made by FOX. And, I assume, that they are both still being made by the same people. If Whedon wants to do crossovers, he will. I imagine that he has enough clout with the networks for that at least.

The WB has cut all ties with Buffy, not even promoteing the show, although they still have two or three episodes left, and word is that they may drop Angel(which I've never watched) and a show called "Popular". UPN has commeted to picking up Angel if WB drops it, and would run it as a block, as the WB has since Angel started.

I've watched Angel since the beginning and it's good. That, and Charisma Carpenter is a hottie.
TheWB basically threatens to drop everything, maybe because it boosts ratings. Buffy has been their flagship series, so to lose it has to suck for them. So if they do drop Angel and Roswell I can easily see UPN picking them up.

A friend at Slipstream posted this, Thanks Movieimp:
quote: The Futon Critic who is very reliable has this to say: "SPECIAL WEEKEND UPDATE WB TO AX 'ANGEL,' 'ROSWELL' AND 'POPULAR' -- I usually take the weekends off but this news is too big to sit on - I've received confirmation about some information I received earlier in the week that the WB is expected to cancel "Angel," "Roswell" and "Popular" when it announces its fall schedule next Tuesday. I managed to get a copy of the WB's summer schedule a few days ago and four shows are noticeably absent: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," "Roswell" and "Popular." "
