I don't think they allow car carriers with missle launchers on their front/back into drive-ins anymore.

No. The comics were vastly superior. And by comics, I of course mean the UK comics. And maybe the latter US ones.
That doesn't alter the fact that the Dreamweave comics are a bit of a, well, mess, both visually and plot wise.
The ability to put some life into fight scenes wouldn't go amiss either.
