So I am annoyed that all these Stargate threads seem to be conspiring to make me say mean things about a show that I geniunely like, but, OK: honestly, what's the point of doing the show without Anderson? While there are still episodes I enjoy, I think its obvious that the show has suffered since he started limiting his presence, leading to things like that outer space race episode. (And O'Neill isn't even my favorite character. I just think that not having the actor available forced them into all sorts of awkward storytelling positions, and while putting him in charge of the whole program alleviates that to some degree. . .well, I don't know.)
I hope their new teammember is a Russian. (I wish their Daniel Jackson replacement had been Russian too; again, nothing against the Jonas Quinn character per se, I just like the dynamics in the Russian episodes.) Actually, a Tok'ra might be neat.

Well, Dr. Who definitely has it beat for years running, though I'm not sure how many actual episodes there were...

There were 159 stories, but they ranged from one to twelve episodes apiece. I don't intend to count them all, but there were apparently over 600.
