Good movie! I liked how everyone in it was actually reasonably intelligent. Nobody had any trouble following the obvious clues that their world wasn't what it seemed to be. The ending was a bit weak. Might have been better off without anything at all of 2024, just leave you wondering if it worked or not. It didn't help that my packaging from Netflix said the movie was 20 minutes longer than it was, which left me wondering what could possibly happen in that time. :-)

Do buildings typically not have 13th floors?

Wasn't this movie typically made five years ago?

Though I agree, it was fairly good. But then I like anything with Armin Mueller-Stahl and his draggy, pipe-tobacco, grandpa voice.

I liked it. But it just goes to show how the lack of star power can stifle a film. Vanilla Sky had much the same twist, and people fall about in raptures about that one, even if it is a remake of Abre Los Ojos, and isn't popular with its target demographic (female Tom Cruise fans) because it's too complicated.

But because it's got Gretchen Mol (that year's Next Big Thing Who Wasn't) and President Palmer before he was President Palmer, and that's about it, it wasn't promoted heavily enough.

President Palmer whose brain got shrunken to the size of a peanut by a cat burglar?

Many buildings indeed do not have 13th floors. They go directly from 12 to 14 because of people's superstitions. At least, that's the way it was some years ago... maybe the trend has changed.

Didn't the office in "Being John Malkovich" have lvls 12, 12.5 and 14?

I tend to suspect this of being an American thing, because

a/ America has a lot more skyscrapers than most places, hence more buildings with 13+ floors, and

b/ Americans are idiots.

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.
