Not a particular favorite of many. River and Simon stuff was always my favorite, but the backwoods villagers who try to build a bridge out of River just feel a little too cliched.
On the other hand, everything surrounding that is great.

It's funny, I really love a lot of the material in this episode, but if there's one thing that drives me absolutely nuts, it's religious superstition and backwards, ignorant philosophies. Those villagers were worse than cliched -- for me, they just pushed all the wrong buttons, and I could barely watch them spout their crap the first time.
The actors they got to play the Young Simon and River were pretty good, though. Cool characterization there... and even more poignant after seeing the recent "sessions" floating around the Web right now.
