Tony Stark should sue over that chestpiece and those gauntlets....I'm told Bryan Hitch, who designed them, is the artist on Ultimate Iron Man, so no surprise there!
I dig the head though- a nice update on my favorite Cybermen (from Peter Davison's run).
The stylized "C" on their chest is lame though....so too the bell bottoms.
Still, if the Cybermen can look this cool (and [i]mechanical[/] for once!) even the Sontarans could be revised into cool aliens.

I like it, although it doesn't quite fit the design lineage chronological-wise, if this is supposed to be a Cyberman from the year 2005.
To use Mark's pic of the older cybermen, from left to right (all dates are from the DW timeline, not when the episodes were produced):
1. Original Mondas Cyberman type I, circa 1987.
2. Telos Cyberman type III, from "The Wheel in Space" circa 2000-2050.
3. "New" Cyberman, circa 2005?
4. Telos Cyberman type V, circa 2600's (time-traveling Cybermen)
5. Telos Cyberman type IV, from "The Invasion" circa 1971.
(There's a type II Cyberman the pic doesn't show, the ones from "The Moonbase" and "Tomb of the Cybermen", circa 2070-2500.)
So if this new one is from 2005 (and before anyone says so, I know that there's no evidence yet that it is), then it would be placed between the type IV from 1971, and the type III from 2000-2050. The only distinguishing characteristic it has is the teardrops on the eyes. Other than that, it looks nothing like what came before or after it.
Or am I just being too anal retentive?

Oh, and by the way, if anyone has ever seen "The Tenth Planet," you'll get a little snicker when Mondas is first seen. They basically just took a globe of the Earth, turned it upside-down, and spinned it around. The funny thing is that when the upside-down continent of Latin America appears, you can almost see the words "Latin America" scrawled across the continent! (or maybe it's just the "drive system" Colin Baker referred to in "Attack of the Cybermen"...

DR Who villans- the old "we replaced our organs to become immortal until we became soulless machines entirely" bit as I recall.
They used advanced ski-mask helmets back in the day.
Their one weakness: gold pressed latinum. Er....Gold dust that clogs their resperators (a lame weakness if you think about it).

Am I the only person who thinks the new Cyberman resembles a thin Warhammer 40K Space Marine? Not that this is a bad thing, I think it looks very cool. But there are lots of similarities between the two.

There's a picture of an original cyberman, as they were in 'The Tenth Planet'.
