The series continues to get better and better, and even the new BSG on its worst day is still ten times better than most of the other sci-fi programming on the air in the last two decades, including TNG.

I don't think they're stretching anything, I think they're building a storyline step by step and adding layers as they go. Some work, some don't, but at least they're going about it the right way and not going down the story/crisis/alien of the week route. Sorry, I can't agree - as far as I'm concerned BSG season 2 is building on the first and going from strength to strength.
Oh and it's Edward James Olmos. :-)

I wouldn't say the whole second season is worse, but I would say the last few episodes have been missing the mark just slightly. They'll probably fix that soon, though.
