Now for those that have seen the movie, I'd like to open the discussion up on the subject of Anikan. His mother admited to Qiu-Gon that he had no father. The Jedi Council agreed with Qui-Gon that Anikan probably was the Chosen One that will give balance to the Force. The point I noticed was that Darth Maul's Master (Palpatine?) knew that the Queen was on Tatoonine, and at no time was a traitor of the Queen's company exposed that could have lead them to this knowledge. I was expecting it. I thought it may have been Padme after they left Tatooine, but no. Nothing was determined. The Sith just knew. Was it some extra-ordinary foresight of the Force, or were they attuned to Anikan? We already know the story is going to revolve around Anikan. We know he becomes Darth Vader. But could the Sith have inseminated Shmi to give birth to this Chosen One? Let's remember that at that time in the Rebublic, the good side of the Force was top-heavy. This Balance could very well be a figure strong in the Dark Side. The Jedi Council knew of Anikin's potenial danger. "He's too old." Or in other terms, his personality has already been molded. He already has much fear--being a slave would do that to a person, no? Anikan already has the elements that will foster the darkness in him. Could the Sith have known through Anikan's emotions that the Queen was there? Has Anikan always been intended to be an agent of the Sith? Or did I miss something in that small Corsacant scene between Maul and his Master?
What do you think?

I seem to remember in a brief discourse between Maul and his Master that they had said the signal trace had led them to Tatooine. This leads me to believe that someone on the Queen's ship went against the orders of the Jedi and responded to the SOS that the Naboo councelor was forced to send out. It wasen't shown onscreen so it's hard to say

Well, what do they mean by a balance in the Force, though? They've had the Jedis, on the light side for a long time, right? I think that this is hinting in Darth Vader's part in the elimination of the Jedi...
Another thing... Qui-Gon and the rest talked about "mitochlorians(sp?)" as microscopic organisms that lived in all life... Could this be...Mitochondria? The organelle in our cells tha produces the energy we need to sustain ourselves, and also is believed to once have been a separate organism that entered our bodies long ago?

Darth Maul's master was Darth Sidious wasn't it? He was never directly mentioned but in all the ads, books, and stuff he is shown with the name Darth Sidious. Palpatine is now the Chancellor of the Republic, apparently he becomes Emperor later own and becomes a "hooded figure" himself. Is Palpatine Darth Sidious....they looked different from what you could see of the chin. Not sure.
Comments??

After seing the movie, yes, Palpatine is to become emperor. I can't wait till he takes over, and extracts revenge on the Gogan, for screwing up his plan in this movie. (ohsa nosa)
