Okay--I'm a bit confused here, and I haven't found an answer anywhere else. Does anyone know anything about the stages of Jedi Training? From seeing TPM and reading the novelization, it appears that Padawan apprentice/learner is the first stage. And if Obi Wan was Qui-Gon's Padawan, but he had trained under Yoda before Qui-Gon, what was he then? Did he just change Master's, possibly because Yoda came to a position on the Jedi Council? All I can come up with is this:

Learning under several masters is probably common...it gives the future Jedi several different "points of view." Certainly worked for Obi-Wan, no?

*nods* True enough. Now that I've finished the book, it's perfectly evident that the first step is Padawan, the second, Jedi Knight. *shrugs* we'll see where this goes. *L*

Hi guys. You mentioned the novels... I wont beat around the bush here, I am a relative newbie to Star Wars. I saw ANH when I was four, got hooked on the movies, but I never got that much into everything else, like the books....... (though i did cry when I lost my Luke Skywalker action figure. hehe... c'mon, I was 7 then!!). I'm now 17 btw....
But.. could someone recommend the best novels to read? thanks.

Well, the novel I was referring to was the novelization of TPM--I'd recommend it, too. See the movie first and then read the book. It answered a lot of the questions that I had *L* :-)
