What the? Grrr! They do not own my intellectual properties. I speed-read that fine print and must have missed that bit.

I certainly hope they change that.

Same here. Quite frankly, I'm beginning to get sick and tired of GeoCities.

If anyone with a Trek-related Geocities site wants to bail and needs a place to stay, email me... Will be hosting refugee Geocities accounts.

Darnitt, my ENTIRE page was there..... And it's one HUGE page, too! .....

What's worse, is I tried to connect with the FTP client to get all the stuff out and onto my compy, and it won't even let me do THAT......

So this means that if I transfer my stuff out of there, Geocities and Yahoo will sue my pants off? Sure looks like it.

Good thing I use Xoom. It's also faster without the annoying pop-up banner. Yes, I know that xoom uses a frame to advertise, but at least there's no window popping up.

No, that means anything there now they OWN. You can remove it whenever you want... That's what I've done.

I'm FTPing mine (Starship Designs) to and archive folder on my harddrive. I better be able to delete my material from their database!

And thanks Brigman for bringing this up. I would have never known otherwise.

But the point is that you can't use your material from GeoCities anywhere else? And they say they are doing this to protect themselves from copyright infringements lawsuits. Someone tell me how doing such a thing to their users achieves this.
