First:
Is it that necessary to make Seven of Nine's "things" so embarassingly out of proportion?
Second:
I think Janeway should consider giving Seven a StarFleet rank and stuff. I mean she's probably the smartest individual on board.

Giving her a Starfleet uniform might be a good idea. She looked pretty good in "Relativity". I think she'd look great in the First Contact uniforms.

Keep in mind though, TPTB wanted someone who would make human males spasmatically drop their remotes when they happened upon Voyager. They got it! Not to impune Jeri Ryan's value to the show. She's a great actress. She just also happens to be really hot!

I agree though, that the costumes (designed by the Doctor by the way) are a bit exhibitionist.

Doc designs Seven's clothes.

Seven's clothes are skin-tight lycra.

Well, initially that silver number of hers was skin-regenerative or some such. (Yes, TPTB actually came up with a justification!) Apparently Seven's decided that these designs are an "efficient" use of cloth.

I really don't think a commission is in order--I think it would be better if she were allowed to rediscover Annika Hansen first--but I'll agree a Starfleet uniform would be a nice change of pace. (Crew gatherings and away missions come to mind.)

Oh, and Saboc: the father of Vulcan logic is Surak.

Yeah, that's right. why is it that Seven's clothes are so tight? Why can't she wear a dress or something like that?

Actually, I was under the impression that, although Jeri Ryan can't claim to have an undersized bust line, they still pad her outfit to... enhance these particular features... Personally, I would care if they did her up in full-blown, neck-choking Puritan dress; she's still worth looking at...

Er... Ah... For her acting ability only, of course... Ah... That's it... Yeah... :-)

P.S.--The above is a joke. While I have to admit that she's exceedingly attractive, I am, contrary to popular belief, mature enough to see more than breats and hips. So, don't go beheading me, or anything... *remains wary of the womenfolk, just in case* :-)

Well, *everybody* in Trek gets bosom padding as long
as she's a she. Not in order to increase bustline, but to hide those pesky nipples that one just cannot show in prime time. The exceptions are the uniforms that are thick enough by themselves to take care of this hugely important point - probably including the current FC-style Starfleet uniforms. OTOH, at least Terry Farrell complained that the FC uniforms are horridly tight and hot and generally uncomfortable.

Probably the miniskirts of TOS were the most practical piece of clothing for the actors under the hot studio lights. Come to think of it, those would also be the most practical uniforms for Starfleet officers in "reality", given how they serve inside cramped starships that must get really hot in battle. Strange that Kirk only wore a miniskirt thrice, Spock and McCoy characters just once. (Name the episodes! )

I think a dress would be to much of a hassle to wear on a starship. And miniskirts show skin and as far as I can tell the people in charge want to get away from that. Remember at the begining of TNG there were crew members who had them and now you don't see them. I'm also in agreement with TSN about seven.
