Further to my Atlas-Class, here is the first pass at the quadruple container tug which I had promised.

Robo-Tug 2

For the purposes of this schematic the port and starboard tow pads have been left empty.

Any suggestions for a name? It should be along the same lines as Atlas, possibly some other mythical figure who was made to carry a heavy burden or was notably strong...not Hercules, that just sounds silly.

Anteus. Perhaps not the best omen for a starship, but it fits and it sounds good.

Blessed be.

Grolantor (god of the hill giants)
Sleipner (Odin's 8-legged steed)
Magni (Norse god of strength)
Vidar (Norse god of strength & silence)
Cratos (Greek god of strength & power)

I was under the impression that the G in the TAS registries had something to do with them carrying grain. I gave my robotug a T (for transport or tug) registry.

As tempting as Bender and Megamaid are, I think I'll go with Magni-Class...I have a soft spot for Norse mythology.

However I am shocked and appalled that know one even suggested Johnny Five [Wink]

BTW, Shik: How did you compile all that so quickly?

I doubt registry codes are THAT specific.
I just took "NCC-G" as being a special code for autonomous Starfleet vessels.

Oh and for those of you who enjoy the little details, here's a close up of the mechanics of the tow pad.

Very nice!

Just an idea that occured to me ages ago when one of the fighter threads was going but I don't think I ever posted: Something like this design but carrying attack craft on the tow pads- larger than the usual fighter designs and specialised for combat; they wouldn't have to lug around an interstellar fuel supply or be small enough to fit in shuttlebays/hangers.

The mythology geek's friends: the AD&D "Legends & Lore" manual & Encyclopedia Mythica.

Then might I suggest a slight change to Vidar-class? After all, it's an unmanned drone tug, & Vidar was the Norse god of strength & silence.
