I got the best letter ever on Valentine's Day. It went "We regret to inform you that your scholarship is being discontinued as of the end of the Spring 2000 semester due to your academic standing."
I knew it was coming, but I thought it was funny that it came on Valentine's Day.

Of course, I tend to smother the poor girl with gifts and attention far more than I can afford, because she's nice to me. The girls in my high school don't know what they missed.

I'm just lucky that this Valentine's Day didn't end up like last year when I was dating my former girlfriend. But it is easier to find gifts for a boyfriend than a girlfriend. At least he won't nitpick when I buy a box of chocolate for him, or take him out to dinner or show him a pair of handcuffs...
